Damn You Think It's All Good??
Let me think it’s all good? Then we think it’s all good? And you think it’s all good? How does it go again? What IS Raul saying? Oh it’s, “Damn you think it’s all good?” Well folks, there you have it, the lyrics are, “Damn you think it’s all good.” Now we know and everything is all good.
So All Good released today and we are so excited to share it with everyone. This song is a culmination of everything we (as musicians) have been learning over the years. I’m hopeful that when you listen to it, you listen for how Nevertel has grown over the years. It’s hard to believe that it was almost five years ago that we started writing Living Fiction. Now here we are, releasing something All Good, and this is only the beginning.
I’m not going to talk about the writing process for the song so much in this post. That’s coming in a later blog post with a little something extra for y’all (hashtag sign up for our newsletter). But I will talk about how we are handling this release differently than any other past release. Firstly, this song is a single. It’s not attached to any other larger project...(yet....maybe). Second, we are working with a PR company to spread as much awareness about All Good as possible. Lastly, on top of filming a music video we developed a lot of extra content for before the release and for after the release. You may have seen a few quick videos on our facebook with each of us describing what we like most about the song. There’s plenty more content like that in store following the release of the song.
We filmed the music video with Cam at Motion State Media, (the same great team that helped filmed the Stuck Inside video) and let me tell you, it was HOT in that building. Poor Jeremy and Raul, they had to sit under a spot light that was radiating so much heat you could almost smell their skin burning. But it was totally worth it because the shots of Jeremy sitting alone at the dining room table and Raul rapping to the camera look absolutely fantastic. Don’t get me wrong, it was hot for me and Josh as well, but those guys almost got sunburns on the backs of their necks’. Aside from the heat it was really a great shoot. Everyone had a great time! And for once we could actually hear the track while we filmed! We rented two massive PA systems so that we could hear the track over Josh’s drums. It took us three music videos to figure that one out! But hey, you live and you learn.
There’s not really much else to say about the song, really I think it speaks for itself. When you listen to it, I hope you’ll say to yourself, “Damn, I think that’s all good!”
